I was happy that the download link(s) provided give 1mbps+ speed. Most of the videos on this forum will get you 50kbps average, with about 1/25 videos giving you up to 500kbps.

Don't know about the cable, it could be your ISP account. if you have for example a 'lite' account your downloadspeed is capped at a certain point.
