This has already been posted by one of your members...
As for what i think, unfortunatley the music has all been used many times before. Also the content was pretty dull with nothing happening.
I have to say i loved the effects at the start of the film though. Madmech has some real skills in that department.

I'll keep this short and sweet since I was actually waiting for more feedback in the other thread.
Half the film was text over stock battlefield 2 menu footage. If there was a story or plot, I could not single it out very easily if at all, unless you were trying to capture real world conflict (which I think it was) then the footage could have used more gameplay footage in a shorter time, without the need for mass amounts of text throughout.
It was a good try, but the fact is, all movies like this have just never worked on me, although I did get some sense with the last image of the tree, it was very peaceful.

Hey guys, thanks for the input.
This was my first attempt at a "real movie". It was just me working on it and I only had a couple demo files to get content from. Nothing was scripted or choreographed so I was pretty happy with what I ended up with.
Sorry it didn’t float your boat. I mainly made it to show to friends. Whenever I tell people I play allot of video games they think Pac-Man. Showing this video and adding the emotional / reality aspect and a tad of Hollywood should help them relate to it better and show the complexity and diversity of video games these days.
Even though you didn’t like it, would you say, good for a first attempt with no script or choreography? Or it just sucked all together ?
**EDIT**
It’s funny how different people have different taste. Here is a quote from another SIR member:
"good plot+good editing=a awesome movie
good job!"
LMAO, at least someone liked it ;)

Well nothing against Sir. blackhawkpilot but he doesn't actually make videos, Atleast not that i have seen anyway. Xalias is one of the Great movie makers, and i am releasing a big movie this week.
For a first attempt as you said the standard was far higher than most peoples. From watching it it is clear you have good editing skills. As we both said it was the content of the movie that let it down.
Good luck with your next movie, I think you will do well. ;)

If I made a graph of forum posters and spilt them into categories, there's like this small little slide of people in the movie business. And it's not like a, slap it together "ownage" video windows movie maker bunch. We are quite a step up from that. Into what I'd say was the enthusiast community of machinima.
(Far too much analysis here :p )
A couple of us: Me, Sir. Xios, John-Paul, NeoRicen, Sir. Side, Keyelite, LRRP... (of the top of my head)
Your find most of our movie posts are not just one liners. Likewise for me, your actually find the longer I make the posts... more in-depth I can go, roughly translates into how much I actually enjoyed the product in question.
Concordantly, those "ownage" videos you can find around any forum corner?
...receive zero from me, below the scale.
I enjoy what I do, and I put the time into what I review, adding my fair share for all the effort you movie makers put into your creations.
As you can see, you are in no way a bad producer. Your first movie was quite wonderful, and we all learn to take time for improvement.
Quite simply, you can only get better.

The plot was rediculously dumb and boring. Too much text to read. And not enough footage to watch. = Lame.
On the other hand, the editing was great, and music transition was good too.
And that's just being rough. Didn't feel like actually typing up my reaction.
