Battlefield 40k Mod Update

We have been sent some news today from the guys behind the very popular Battlefield 40k (http://www.battlefield40k.com/forums/) mod. They have some new images to show off from their gallery as well as a very impressive video of their Gun Drone flying around in Karkand. Take a look:

Awesome Plasma Cannon! Your really Nailing that Tau Camo style! Is that a Las Rifle in the top left picture?

yeah video doesnt work for me either, dunno why not. but all their other stuff looks great. that sniper is pertty damn good and the cockpit is looking great as well

Rifle: Why are the scope's front shaped that way? Wouldnt it be smarter to have it like the back of the scope? Then the lense wont be blinded by the sun and other light sources..

Bullets: Why are the bullet (front) shaped like that? Wouldnt it be better with a bullet being almost as big as the cartridge? I dont quite agree with your "explode inside then outside" theory..

Bigass gun: A large scope (red dot type or a actual display) would fit it much better, the ironsights are way too large..

But hey, its Battlefield 40k, who knows what the world will look like at that time :)

these guys are basing a mod on the Games Workshop tabletop game "warhammer 40k".

the models are based on the models used in the game - and done very well at that.

so unfortunately that whole "wouldnt it be better" suggestion list wouldnt make things better... it would make things just plain wrong ;)

I have been watching Warhammer 40K mods start and fail since Tribes 1. I really hope that this one sees the light of day, and grows into the 40K game that should've been made years ago.

The bullets (i presume they are Bolts for the bolter) are actually rocket proppelled. Hence no need for a cartridge.

I'll describe the Vid to those who can't see it (I'll ask bunnysnot if he can upload it again.)
The Tau Twin Pulse carbine drone is hovering about strike to karkand map flying over the fences. Knocks into a building then starts firing off the barrels of the pulse carbines (blue muzzleflashes) (except for the Photon GL launchers)

We made one alpha release that is available to download for bf1942 if you want to try it out. Its Blood Angels vs Black Templars.

the bullets are for the sniper, and i dont think they're in casings. but its only a basic skin so it might change. it looks wicked thogh, keep up the good work BF40k
