Since introduction of 1.2 patch I have this random CDT,but only during clan wars.Strange because it never happens when I play on any public servers. As far as I know it's a wide spread problem...it happens to half of my clan m8's and also guys from other clans have same problem.I doubt that this problem is hardware related, because...well in my case it happens only with BF2.I tried solution that Night735 posted here, but without success.
Does anybody else has any idea how to end this anoying problem?

Just a quick thought... Do you have enough space for the swap file?
If it runs out of space, you will drop out to desktop just like that...
I have mine set to system controlled, and that made my loading time better, and havent had any CTD's... The 1.2 patch is quite buggy tho

I was having the same thing happen after I patched to 1.22. I found out my RAM was actually under clocked. Was runnign at 360 instead of 400. I adjusted my divider and FSB and once I had my RAM back at 400mhz all is well. Sucks I can't OC my RAM or BF2 crashes. Only BF2 does this, and it ran fine till I upgraded to 2GB. Pulled my hair out for weeks till I noticed I had the wrong divider set. Now why would BF2 crash with RAM that is underclocked or overclocked?

I've had a few problems with my HDD and have had to swap to an older 40gig drive. Everything works well on the new install (CSS, UT2004) but BF2 CTD always on 15% connecting to a server.
I reset my BIOS when reinstalling, so I wouldn't think the RAM is o/c or u/c? How do I check my Swap file?
Any other ideas?
*EDIT* Btw, X850 Pro 256 meg, 2 gig RAM.... running memtester as I type.
