I just got a Saitek Cyborg Evo and I can't get it to work in BF2. It's plugged in and the drivers are installed. It just won't work. Any ideas?

have you tried going into the controls and mapping the buttons on it to bf2?

And make sure it is in BEFORE you start BF2 or BF2 won't recognise it.

Do you have any other joysticks listed as "installed" on your computer.\
Go to "control panel/game controllers and see whats in there.
I used to have an older joy stick before I got my x52. The new one wouldn't work on B52 until I deleted the old one in the "game controllers" section, then it worked fine.

I too just picked up a Evo,
my problem is the throttle is not working, it looks correct because accellerate and decellerate are both the same joy axis for the slider.
But when i enter game it does nothing...
***Edit: NM, i figured it out when my plane kept backing up and exploding... ;-)

I'm having the same problems. I have a Cyborg Evo Force. Everything works in the control panel, but BF2 does not recognize it at all. I've tried mapping keys in BF2 but nothing happens. I've installed, reinstalled, updated drivers. The controller IS plugged in before I start the game. But it just doesn't work. I also have a Saitek Gamers' Keyboard (don't know if that matters).
I'm at my wits end. I've been at this for 3 days now with no luck at all.
PLEASE HELP!!!

You must go into Options>Controls>Aircraft/Helicoptes and make the adjustments there. When you are mapping the controls are you clicking "Apply" when you are finished? If the lights on the joystick are on, then it is powering up (obviously :D).

I do that, but when I try to set the controls, no buttons are recognized. The game is detecting no input from the controller at all. Neither the throttle nor any of the buttons on the joystick are recognized. All the lights are on. But everything works in the Windows Control Panel. Saitek has been no help. They just reply with a link to their support page which is no help at all.
A lot of users have that stick - basically all you need to do is plug it in....

You have to clear the current bind for each control. This basically means that you have to select the button on your joystick by clicking the corresponding box (with your mouse in the controls menu), once highlighted you press the appropriate joystick button/control so it will be entered in the box. You do this for every control you want mapped to the joystick. Once finished you click apply and that should do it. The reason I think Saitek is not providing specific help is because it is on your end, user error. No big deal though. Follow the directions in this post and see if it works.

I've attempted to bind the keys over and over and over more times than I'd like to say. I click on a key and hit ecape to clear it. The I click on it again. Now the game waits until I hit the key/button I want to bind for that particular control.
So, say I want to bind the trigger to Fire Primary weapon (or whatever it's called). I click the box with the mouse. Now it's waiting for me to press the key/button I want to bind to that command. Then I pull the trigger on the joystick to bind the trigger to Fire Primary Weapon. Nothing happens. The box is not populated with anything. It just sits there.
Either I'm extremely ignorant and I'm doing something blatently wrong -- I don't think so... :) or there is something wrong with the drivers/install for the joystick. I don't have another joystick to test, so I don't know if the issue is with the software or hardware... or me...
It shouldn't be this hard.

Couldn't you just copy and paste the post in the other forums. Register for 1 post...yeck!. I thought that maybe you were skipping the mouse click box designation step. It's a very common mistake. You were doing it correctly though. Hmmm. Uninstall the entire thing and redo following the posts instructions, if you want to register that is...

Sweet, sweet justice! That worked! Too bad my gamepad for my keyboard is now disabled... but I didn't really use that much, anyway.
Now I can fly for more than 10 seconds without crashing!
Thanks for everyone's help!!!:D :D :D
