i ahve just installed battlefield 2 and when i go to open it up it shows me the bf2 loading screen and then it disappears and i get the screen that says "BF2.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v433/asasin/bf2error.jpg

Ive tried uninstalling and reistalling but it didnt help. this hard drive was just formatted so there really shouldnt be any program conflict because i only have a few programs on it, and i beleive that all my drivers are up to date.

Do you have the proper CD / DVD in the drive or are you using a CD / DVD image mounted on a virtual drive?

Try using the original CD and see if that message still appears. I used to get the same error with Special Forces until I put the original CD back in (getting more scratched every day..)

In that case no one here will help you.

The forum rules forbid any talk of pirating software etc so you are on your own.

Check to see whether or not BF2 is still running in task manager, if it is end the proccess and try to reopen BF2.

Your Sound Device driver is old. Maybe not out of dated but old anyway. DxDiag is a great help, ty. I've got a similiar motherboard and i had problems with Realtek Sound Drivers so try this (http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=1271). It's a driver mix for nForce platforms.

I used to get the same error prompt till I used the bf2 cd image online. Before I used a bf2 cd image I created and mounted via Alchohol120 and I received constant problems. Do a 'search' for cd image and there should be plenty of info...

i've had it where clicking on the windows bf2 icon the program would crash back to windows/error out/or freeze up. went straight to the cd for bf2.exe and it would work. copied to windows for a fix. ...weird...
