Point of Existence 2 Mod Update

The Point of Existence 2 (http://www.pointofexistence.com/) mod is back today with another new update. They only have one new screenshot to show today but a new teaser as well. Take a look:

It’s apparent that our news updates won’t have as much graphics from week to week as we are getting close to a release candidate for .1. This week’s render will be of a vehicle that has already been shown but had issues. For our initial release the Ukraine team will have the BMP-2 as their primary infantry fighting vehicle. Expect to see this in our next news update with it being in game.

The Testers have been working (playing) hard with Illicitfilms (http://www.pointofexistence.com/forums/index.php?showforum=24) so that we can provide a new teaser flick for your enjoyment. The plan was to release a video with our objective mode for BFCon’06 but we ran out of time. We like to keep our word on things so Illicitfilms was kept in his dungeon till he produced something for your viewing pleasure. With the amount of footage that was gathered we plan on releasing a couple more as Illicitfilms has the time to finish the editing process. The teaser is MPEG-4 format which the latest Quicktime (http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html) viewer supports.

That video while compiled for the movie was taken from a very intense moment of testing. We had a blast making that and it worked out for a great movie. As mentioned there is more to come soon. :)

I know its not a high priority, but I hope that in a later release you guys do you own custom sounds of when people die.

This teaser was used to gather information from our fans (and hopefully future fans) and to see what type of reactions we would get. We used our POE:1 music in the trailer, and also used ProZac's work for sound that pertained to the weapons and everyone's responses have definately helped us. Don't worry, Illicitfilms has been kept in the dungeon and he's still working more teasers for your viewing pleasure :)

I wasn't blown away by the trailer either, but I'm not a very big fan of those EA stylized sort of vids. Give me gritty combat with lots of camera shake and other "in the middle of the action" effects.

Still looking forward to 0.1 though, mostly the new gamemodes. I hope you guys can really get those implemented for the first release.

I enjoy some long distance shots, showing you the battlefield, the essence of the game's capability.

I'm a big fan of air combat, so anything pertaining to some kind of pass over with an aircraft really increases my want to play this mod.

Nice work on the movie, however I am glad this is only a teaser, even though the quality was awesome, and so was all the new beautiful content, I must say dCON had a more grander video based apon coordination and choriography, but atleast you didn't have vehicles moving rather redicously fast..
However, atleast yours had a great ending, with that sniper running into the mist of battle. I only wish it was longer, based apon the file size.

Amazing Establishing shot is all I can say, that was by far extermly nice. The map looks so dark and cloudy, a personal fav. in weather conditions and it worked well. lookng foward to playing.
