View Full Version : A10 v Su25
ok.
lets put it this way i know quite abit about these aircraft! ok i can see the A10 is going to be one of the first things to be complained about, due to being either to strong or weak. but lets not forget the Su25 this is also a powerful peice of machinery and if properly modled can easy overpower any map.
but in all truth these planes were designed to kick ***, and we are going to see a lot of complaning about them being to powerful! i hope ea model them correcctly!
what you guys think?

meh bombers are easily handled by fighters and linebackers, they wont be overpowered thats for sure as long as you have me flying for your side :p
that means Harrier and the other MEC fighter for me.

Well the Su25 will have an air to air fighting advantage since the A-10 is designed to support troops via air to ground fighting with the 30mm gatling gun in its nose and cluster bombs unless EA doesnt check the booster pack for errors and stuff and f**ks up the 30mm gatling gun so its extreamly pathetic or something and the A-10 is also fairly slow so i would say the Su25 wins air combat and the A-10 would win ground combat but there will always be thoes idiots who will take the A-10 of to start fighting in air to air combat despite common sence.

USI's A-10 gattling gun will push you if you are hit, that is if you survive long enough :D

I think they will give each plane his advantage, like the A-10 with his gattling cannon. Probably the Su-25 will get some advantage too, like more bombs or something ;)

BF2's an arcade game and fun, so as usual EA won't model the planes "correctly". I suspect neither will they have the full compliment of weapons which make them so useful on the battlefield, for instance fuel-air or cluster munitions, and laser or tv guided bombs/missiles. Looking at the screenshots, it looks like rockets, iron bombs and cannon. Even so, I agree, these aircraft will probably still be seen as "too powerful" and will own the battlefield with the small arsenal of weapons available. Like vanilla BF2 and Euro Force, people will whine incessantly. I can't wait... ;)
If you want a more realistic experience of flying the A10 and Su25T(M)/Su39, Lock On: Flaming Cliffs (http://www.lockon.ru/index.php?end_pos=129&scr=products&lang=en) (or Lock On: Gold (http://www.evolvedgames.com/lockon.htm)) is a must have.

real life characteristics:
Q5 (Chinese plane): basically a ghetto Su30. It's an improved version of Mig19 itself, moderately armored, has decent air to air ability, carry bombs, has a radar, but does not have the tank buster cannon
In game: it'll probably be pretty fast, equipped with a radar, 4 bombs, and 4 A2A missile, a ghetto bomber if you will.
A10: dedicated ground attack, powerful against ground, weak against air.
in game: equipped with rocket and bomb, PLUS tank buster cannon, DOES not have radar, which makes targeting so much more diffcult.
Su25/39: resembles A10, same tank buster cannon, slightless less ATG munitions, but faster.
