There is a new update posted today over at the Forgotten Hope 2 (http://forgottenhope.bf1942files.com/main.php?flash=no&lang=english&module=) mod website. They have some news on a FH2 minimod as well as some new renders. Have a look:
Norwegian Resistance has also started the development of a new FH2 minimod for Battlefield 2™. As a little appetizer we have two screenshots out of their latest update showing the remake of the battle at Ulsnes. You should definitely stop by their site to check out more screens and read about their latest progress!

Along with this good news it's time to unveil the first new item for FH2. The 20 mm Flugabwehrkanone 38 will help the German troops fulfill the motto of their anti-aircraft artillery "Wir bringen Licht und Wärme ins Cockpit!" ("We bring light and warmth into the cockpit!"). The Flak 38 was designed in 1939 as the successor to the Flak 30 and entered service in 1940. It quickly became the most common light anti-aircraft gun of the German armed forces. To enhance its mobility it could be either towed or mounted on a vehicle. The Sonderanhänger 52 and the Flakpanzer 38 (t) are only two examples. The Flak 38 was modelled and skinned by jodonnell.
Furthermore we'd like to present the German Opel Blitz 3 ton S (Standard) truck, which was by far the most common truck of the Wehrmacht. Designed as as a civilian commercial truck, its production started in 1937. The Blitz was powered by a 3.6 liter, 6 cylinder engine that produced 75 hp. It was soon discovered by the Wehrmacht that this popular truck was very dependable. More than 80,000 had been produced by 1944. The one we show off today was manufactured by Mange, who built the body, and Jimbob, who was responsible for the nice paintjob.

As always great looking stuff, those maps look very impressive. Drop by their site (http://forgottenhope.bf1942files.com/main.php?flash=no&lang=english&module=) to show your support.

You guys are always putting out the high detail goods. The trees on the bridge shot are really nice, and dont remind me at all of BF2.
DO you ever get tired of the praise, cause im tired of giving it, lol.
Seriously, WW11 or any other battle, top notch.

Thanks for all the generous comments but as Eglaerinion already mentioned, the map shots are by Norwegian Resisistance, which is a totally seperate crew--they are part of the FH extended family though so we were happy to let everyone know that they were back in action.
So all credit for nice mappage on this update is owed to the NoRes team, not FH.

Love the motto. :)
Flak looks sick. Opel-Blitz skin is just mind-blowing. The truck just looks amazing compared to FH1's.
Thanks to FH2 team for the German beauty. ;)

I'd just like to point out that for the Canadian vehicles we had a tendancy to paint the US star upsidedown way more often than not. It seems we didn't appreciate getting bombed by the Yanks (it seems American pilots have always been a little trigger happy) but we also didn't like putting a bloody star on our tanks either. The British would do this as well but us Canucks have never really liked being called American, I mean would you like it?.
No problem with Americans of course it's just that I'm not one and my war veteran grandfather would have knocked your teeth out for calling him one as well.
Other than that this is the most amazing mod ever and you have me drooling.

I don't have the slightest idea of what your reply has got to do with this news post......
Anyhow, great update FH devs, the new FH2 media looks insanely good and I'm glad to hear NoRes is back in the game.

It looks as if they are really paying attention to detail in this mod and so if you go look at the section that has Canadian ground forces the stars on the tanks and jeeps is the right side up. More often than not being forced to paint an American symbol on your fighting equipiment especially while fighting for God King and Country pi$$ed us off. Not to mention that the reason we where forced to do that is due to that fact that even today American pilots have a tendancy to shoot the crap out of anything moving on the ground, can we say Afganistan? That being said it would be really nice if they would skin the Commonwealth vehicles with upside-down American stars.
As this mod team obviously does a great job I just wanted to point that out in the attempt to help with historical accuracy and I'm really looking forward to playing.

Dear god, how much longer are you going to make us wait? I think I speak for us all when I say, PLEASE HURRY!
when its finished ;)
You might consider getting a test beat out before long. With all the new BF2 like games coming out, there might not be many people left playing BF2.

haha that argument is invalid for FH2. It didnt motivate anyone the first time we heard it and it certainly hasnt gained any credibility since then :D sure, people may stop playing bf2, but whats that got to do with a WW2 mod?
FH2 = WW2 FPS
Current list of WW2 FPS's that will be released in the next 2 years = 0
If people want to play an unrealistic futuristic game, then thats fine - all the WW2 FPS fans arn't going anywhere as the next good WW2 FPS to be released will be FH2...
do you see what i am getting at? As you can see - in this particular case that statement doesn't hold much sway :)

WWII Enthusiasts losing interest? It simply wont happen.
Peoples concentration and patience gets shorter with every generation I swear it. Of course thats why 90% of the MOD Devs dotn spend time in the forums, too much work to do. Just to hear critiques from people who dont know.
Thats not a reflection on your post Dronetek at all, im just ranting in general.

I hope these guys are going to stick with the viewdistance Battlefield 1942 had.
Not that every map has massive fog/sandstorms so you can't see the end of the street.

What about Call of Duty 3 (this year PS3 only) and Brothers in Arms : Hells Highway (late 2006/early 2007)?
I am a WWII nut so they are all look sweet to me, including FH2. If you haven't seen the HD vids for the others give them a whirl at gamershell.com. They are wicked.

Anyone who is a true WW2 fan knows that call of duty is a complete nerf fest (especially COD2 - so my expectations of 3 are very low.) That and, as you said, it will be on PS3... sorry but in my opinion console FPS's are never going to be as fluid and logically controlled as a PC fps - nuff said :D
As for BIA - I never liked that game. Far too linear for my liking. And - from the looks of how its progressing - it doesnt look as though it is going to become any less linear :)
I stand by my statement - neither of the games mentioned will be a groundbreaking FPS unfortunately IMO and indeed no competition for FH2 :(

Hey, first post. Though i have been on this website since it started.
Love the flak. Looks amazing. Forgotten Hope was my #1 mod for bf1942. Though i love all the rest too.
Any chance of seeing the silenced sten? Like a Mark IIS or Mark VIS.
Oh and another map for Canada, possible the battle of Ortona.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Ortona
or Battle of the Scheldt
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_the_Scheldt
Securing the river to Antwerp. WE COULD USE THE FLAME TANKS....
Man i wish i had time to make more maps. I love that stuff.
Anyways, Thanks for all stuff so far. Eagerly awaiting FH2.
