Missing AV-8 and Rocket Pods???

Hi all,

Anybody else noticed that the AV-8 Harrier hasnt been spotted since the original announcment of the AF booster pack and the initial release of screenshots?

Has anyone seen a screenie of it ingame?

There also has been screenshots getting around with rocket pods on the Blackhawk!!!

Speaking of which, some screenshots show the unguided rocket pods on the A-10 Thunderbolt II, some don't and I cant see any pods of the other included attack planes.

Again, the initial screenshots show all 4 planes with pods.
If they dont have pods, what will the 2nd weapon select button do?

I noticed it as well, but just because we havent seen any updated screenshots with it in doesn't mean its in. But most likely EA/DICE cut it out, for whatever reason (probably because it doesn't make sense to have the AV-8 and the F-35).

I haven't seen any of these for AF, I saw them before BF2 was released, when it was originally supposed to have the rocket pods. As far as I know, they aren't going to be updating/changing any of the Vanialla vehicles.

Again, the initial screenshots show all 4 planes with pods. If they dont have pods, what will the 2nd weapon select button do?

Most likely, the weapon select button will switch between Anti-Air missiles and Unguided Bombs.

the av8 was probably just replaced by the a10. and the f35 and the av8 are different, because the f35 can hover and go supersonic, while the av8 is a subsonic fighter, reserved for low level ground attacks. I'm happy with the a10 though, we don't need a harrier too.

a-10 dont use rocket pods and if they do i have never seen them but i know they do have a armor lock on missle that can lock on to at least 4 tanks at 1 time and then have cluster bombs if the a-10 does have rocket pods they wouldent be effective....

Not what the person lacking in 4th grade Grammer said. A-10As use Hydra FFAR Pods to get rid of soft targets in a wide swath, leaving the GAU-8 and the AGM-64Gs for the Tanks and hard targets. It will be awesome if the Attack Aircraft in AF have the AG Lock-On function that the Strike Fighters do in the regular game from the WSO seat.

Talk about Armor's worst nightmare, specially on Road Rage. :D

self guided missles, that would be unreal and extreamly aswome. BUTT!!! the would through game balance donw the crapper. no one and i mean no one would ever get in a tank again. just think of the mass TK'ing to get into these "SUPER" planes.

well i have thought about that make the spawn of thos planes right away so the ppl waiting there get it and then also the ppl flyin it have 2 think more knowing that there plane will go 2 someone else if they lose it... or they just can have alot of smoke on the tanks that can skrew with the lock on stuff that might help

I grabbed the US Intervention mode, specifically to fly the
A-10. If the A-10 in the upcoming Booster is anything like
the one in USI, It will be an easier target for AA and even
tanks! It's pretty slow. Fun as hell to fly, turns on a dime, and
the Main Gun is awesome. Now that's cool.:rolleyes:

I like what could be if designed correctly. The A-10 should be
a relatively slow fly aircraft, but should able to take a couple
more hits than any other aircraft in the game.

well the a-10 is made of titanium and its able to take a direct hit of a tank SABOT or HEAT round in real life, abd in armored fury they skrued up and added afterburners which is a nono in the tank buster world(and they dont evean have them in real life)

Ringmaster, I preserve the right to pwn myself however damn hard I please! I rountinely hit myself in the head so hard I nearly black-out sometimes. It's still amazing how I can still manage to type at a college level despite the head tramua I put myself through!
