Weapons on the new Choppers & Spotting Question

They look as though the new small choppers are just observer aircraft, but it looks like they have guns to deal w/ infantry and light vehicles. Will these be pilot-controlled guns like in BFV, or will they require a co-pilot? I loved flying the Hughes Little Bird in BFV and can't waint to scoot around in that bad boy. Curious how the spotting works too, If anyone has some insight into this(Automatic ??) If it is even implemented - Ive seen promises about vehices that haven't materialized before in this game...

They're controlled by the pilot. I also heard that the new choppers are extremely manouverable and can dance circles around the regular attack choppers chipping away at their health 2 bars at a time while the other chopper fruitlessly trys to hit you:)

It's some sort of minigun on them i think.

It looks like the m134, which is the same cannon that is used on the blackhawk.

Download any of these new mods' out there that has the Little Bird implemented for a nice taste of what its like, PRMM is a great mod with it and its very maneuverable, its quite yummy. Although they are not similar I am sure they are just as quick

Thats the one from BF42 - Desert Combat that I remember playing alot of. It has two side mounted machine guns that are quite powerful and the chopper was pretty manouverable in BF1942, but not as manouverable as the little bird :O

Laser guided bombs that means that someone on the gorund has to paint the target, am I right? Really hope the add SIMRAD laser painting device :D

The only way to balance Airpower is to force them to have someone on the gorund that paints targets for them.

As far as I know all the bombers do have laser guided bombs. You just need a copilot to fire them.

That was cool to read in the manual for AF kinda how the spotting works - it sounds pretty automatic - that they pop up on the radar. And also to see the little bird will have missles and guns!!! Sweeeeet

Thank you David Champion for the reccomendation of PRMM. That is a fun little chopper, but the attack choppers are badass. I wish u could pack that many missles in a clip in vanilla - it would be sick. The gameplay is pretty cool too and there are alot of servers.

I hope AF is out sooner rather than later - i cant wait for that little bird! lol

I would imagine its only just the miniguns/chainguns, controled by pilot. But maybe the UAV type ability only works if a co-pilot is sitting in too.

Or maybe not.

I just hope its not a favorite to whore and I can just fly it around most of the map transporting.

Would also be nice to know the limit to how many people they can carry.

I would imagine 3 or 4 for the littlebird, but the others have closed doors and doubt players can fire out sat in the seats, I dont know what to think.

Well did you read the following? It says Guns and rocket / missle capability added. It may just shape up to be pretty nice...

Now it looks like the little bird is guns only (according to the developer's notes) I guess the description in the manual is just a standard desc. of the military vers. of the little bird. Oh well, too bad - it might still kick *** though, & will be fun to fly I hope.

LB holds 3, always has UAV up (small diameter) and also has weapons.

Yeah, two guns per scout chopper, nothing else, and pilot controlled. And they carry three including pilot.
