Was just on my server with a couple of members from here and was discussing Easter eggs.

Not found any yet apart from the Muscles car's registration plate (License plate) being 2142 in obvious reference to the next series of BF.

I also saw lightening strike on Harvest and heard Wolves on Midnight Sun but no real Easter eggs as of yet.

EA have redeemed themselves in my eyes. AF is by far and away the best addition to the series to date. Get ready for Road Rage to take over your lives.

xXMMMSXx is right.. been messing on his server for some hours tonight.. I think the maps are going to show some great game play.. tank battles galore in the Harvest map.. air and tank battles in road rage and a plethora of all in the midnight sun map.

My favorite is the Harvest one since Im from Pennsylvania.. the lightning effect is cool.. but soon forgotten once you start exploring and find all the funny refrences to PA throughout the map.

Hint look behind the shed at the omish home. Some may not get it though..

The choppers fly great and the jets arent as over powering asyou may think.. there is a close feeling to dogfighting in bf1942 whereas there is no missles that auto lock so no newb fighting.. its all guts n glory with nothing but font mounted machine guns on your chopper a few bombs and gatlin guns for the jets.. old fashioned dogfights here we come!

I'd agree with all the above. I've been playing on there too for a few hours now, though we never could get a game started (not enough people).

Jet pilots, this is true dogfighting. Guns only and whoever flies best wins.

Helo pilots, adapt. The little bird is as touchy as the eurocopter, but extremely agile and fast.

Attack chopper pilots, better bring a gunner. Little bird and other scout choppers will gun you down before your rockets reload, and can dart away and find cover before you know what happened. PLUS, they can lose you, but you can't lose them: scout choppers are mobile UAVs, they see all.

Tankers, fear not. Most armor spawns are mobile AA spawns as well. The new jets have the same durability as the old: 3 AA missiles to kill..with luck. Plus they only have 4 bombs, not like the F-15's bomb shotgun! Plus, no missiles. And the gun will not seriously damage your tank or APC, just like now.

Ground pounders, be happy. Yes there are a lot of tanks (no not as many as Euroforce) and jets, and choppers, but there are also VERY big maps with PLENTY of cover.

All in all, Armored Fury is what BF2 SHOULD have been all along. It's elements are balanced, and take skill.

Road rage is my personal favorite so far, but I can honestly say I prefer ANY of the three AF maps to any of the BF2, SF, or EF maps.

It is EASILY worth the ten bucks. My advice? BUY IT AS SOON AS YOU CAN!!

edit: Oh and the scout choppers take two AA missiles to kill. This balances their speed and agility.

Depending on where you hit the Tank you can take out a with one sinlge strafe run. The Warthog uses Uranium core Amunition witch can pierce through 40mm Steelarmour like it was hot butter. The A10 is one of the most powerfull Close Air support planes that was ever designed and i saw her power in Afghanistan when they hit a T82 in pieces only with their gun

I will be really dissapointed if the a-10's gun doesnt completly obliterate any armor. Ive been waiting forever to play AF and be behind that one single weapon. Hopefully EA does what USI mod did and just makes the gun overheat really fast , so if you suck with it you wont get a kill and have to loop back around. And WTH no Air to Air Missles? Did i make a mistake ? is this BF1935 with the Red Barron....Modern Weapons people....means guns and missles i hate to sound noobish but i would still like to have atleast two sidewinders or amraams to plug the bogey outta the sky.Hell they dont even have to work, they can just fly out into the wild blue and TK. Dog fighting while cool at times can really get annoying and draining on your points in round, because you spend half a round doing loops and split S's to get away from Joe Schmo. Well this kinda sways me to the side of "not buy and wait" crowd. thats too bad really.....

Oh and P.S For the love of god....when you release more maps EA, make them big enuff so we can practice with our planes...you did it with Operation Cleen Sweep...I dont understand what the problem is ??? /rant over

Unless there's aircraft from vanilla BF2 in AF, the new aircraft (as far as I know) are all attack planes. Fighter/bomber variants will carry both bombs and AAM's while attack aircraft are configured for ground attack only. "Dogfights" are between fighter aircraft not attack aircraft.

Endless954 said "they have no AAM's" . Furthermore once you and the enemy have spotted each other and start to turn in on each other ITS A DOGFIGHT i dont care if your in a bomber a fighter or a toaster with cardboard wings attached.....

Reason Two. Yea we want points? is that so bad:laugh: the whole game actually centers around this. Alot of people realize that planes are an effective tool for that. but i dont care what anyone says...you can still get more points as a grunt.

Im not RAGGING on you personally Endless954 im just pointing out it really isnt fun TOO dogfight for a 10-15 minutes just to have idiot #1 bale on you ...now you dont get points for the kill and you just wasted half the round... Just FYI i spend my time joyfully in the air with my F-18 check it!

1st.That gun is meant to shred the living poop outa anything it see's on the ground. It is not ment to BE A DOGFIGHTING TOOL.And even if it is a game its modeled after real life! otherwise Stupid EA should have left the afterburners on the turbine aircraft:rolleyes: and made it shoot teddy bears and bunnies out of its GAU-8/a avenger.

Np, man, I didn't take it personally.

I just think that without missiles all but the best pilots are going to ignore other planes and focus on their job....bombing. And those who do want a dogfight, they have it.

lol this is Funny i just took out my Military Encyclopedia of Planes and found out that the a-10 DOES CARRY AIM9L Sindwinder missles on it's Port Outboard Pylons and is a standard fitting on all A-10's !

The A10 isnt meant for dogfighting. But in a battle where there is an enemy plane around, obviously we are gonna dogfight using our cannons against each other.

A-10s usually fly with two AIM-9 Sidewinder air-to-air missiles for self-defense.

They arent in the game, but this isnt real life. If it was, J10 wouldnt stand a chance against F35.

Anyway, gun dogfights here I come again!

Not sure if this has been identified yet, but the red semi at the MEC Truck Stop CP is drivable. I think this qualifies as an easter egg. :D

Sorry. I have to disagree. I have not been able to play since the v1.3 patch. nothing has worked for me properly since then. I know Ihave played a lot up to that point but I have in no means had my fill and have been looking forward to AF. Wish I could play it and wish EA would sort it out.
