Server crashing..bleh...

Let me go ahead and say that I am sorry if I am posting about a topic already discussed and resolved, but I couldn't find it.

When I am loading a map (doesn't matter what map), as soon as it is done loading BF2 crashes to the desktop. I dont have time to click join or anything, it just dies. I have tried joining internet games, local games, and hosting my own games. If there is a solution out there it would be much appreciated, untill then I will keep trying to find a solution...

I meant that I couldnt find a fix for my specific problem. BF2 starts just fine, it doesn't crash after its started (like going through the authentication process or going through menus), and it crashes right before the join button appears when loading a server's map. I have already tried that thread's suggestions.
