Perhaps if we compare patch log summaries we can find a pattern. The log is located at:

C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\bf2Patch.log

Open it with note pad and scroll all the way to the bottom. Copy/Paste what it says like mine below:

I have BF2, SF, and EF installed and only patched 1.3 full one time.

I have only used the full patches.

I did have to do the 1.22 twice cause of an error with wake island. The second install fixed it. Then I reinstalled patch 1.22 a third time after I installed EF.

Man, BF2 sure is odd...
