I've recorded four demo files of myself playing in single player on Dragon Valley. I then place those demo files and their respective .cam files into the My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\default\demos\ After the demo loads, the demo works for around 10 seconds, and it promptly states 'paused', and I can't unpause it, any ideas?

Would uploading my demo files help?

MiRAGE, if you can make 2-3 of those bf2demo files available, I'll download and try them myself, then report back here with the results. Perhaps just upload a few of them to RapidShare (http://rapidshare.de/) and then post the links in this thread.

I've uploaded them to Rapidshare, here is the link:

I compressed the files in .zip format, so if that's a problem let me know. In the .zip file, I placed two of the demo files.

Well, now ... that is just odd. I downloaded the demos, MiRAGE, and attempted to play them both. Sure enough, they spontaneously paused just seconds into playback, leaving no access to the Q-Rose playback controls.

My guess is that the files didn't record properly or somehow became corrupted during the recording process. Assuming that's the case, you'd have to create new ones (and hope that the new recordings actually work).

I don't suppose it's patch-related in that I recently recorded bf2demos in single-player and was able to play them back without any problems, so it might be something to do with your particular installation of BF2.

Perhaps try recording some new demos and let us know if those new ones work during playback. If the same problem arises, it might be worth uninstalling BF2, reinstalling, re-applying the patch, etc. just to ensure it's not the game itself causing the problems.

Were there any settings / console commands you used or altered that might have had an impact? What commands did you use during the recording process?

That is odd, my other computer with BF2 can record fine, but that is pre-1.3. As for the commands, I used demo.recorddemo [Name] to start the recording, and demo.stoprecording to stop the recording.

The demo will pause though because you stopped the demo, or didn't the demo run for as long as it should have? Try recording the demo and let the round end and see if it will play the whole round.

Its not 1.3 related because the demos from our server work fine and play the whole round.
