Gunner Movie

I have plans on making the first gunner ownage movie. I've done video editing before and thats no problem... but I always had trouble with the resolution. I play BF2 at 800x600 and so thats what FRAPS is recording. Now when I make a new project what should I make the resolution? Obviously I cant make it too large or my file size will be too big and if I make it too small it will cut off a lot of the screen and stuff. Any help would be great. Also, I use Adobe Premier 7.0

If thats the res you're playing at, then I'd run battlerecorder and have someone with a better pc record the video for you. No one wants to see a movie at that resoulation. The front page of this site has a new release by sir that's got pretty good graphics. Your video should look about that good.

Interesting song choice. It worked well with the video and thats good (hard to find songs that work lol). Man, it seems like you play at a SUPER high mouse sensativity. I just cant do that. 8-10" for full circle for me =) Gotta have it loooow. Fun video, dont see many that have a lot of chopper stuff.

wow thanks for the good feedback =) I originally was going to make a short vid about that one server because I was flying with metallica guitarist and we were tearing it up and then they banned me for "stealing and shooting at teammates vehicles" or something, but as you can see its nearly impossible to see the writing up top so I said f it and ill just do my gunner video that I’ve been thinking of doing for awhile now. But now I need the footage =)

Hmm should I tell you the song now or later? =) I mean the song is what makes a video sometimes and I’d hate to ruin that =P I’ll pm you

Yah I still don't know what size to use. I play at 800x600 and when I record with FRAPS the video is 800x600. When I create a new project, what size should I use?

I always like watching good gunner movies. There have been a few and one of our guys is working on one atm <<R2>> DGuy. He just finished getting all the footage he needed the other day. I was the pilot and he turns out pretty good vids so it should be a good watch.

There's a better way to get missile cam view than using BR and following it in.

Much smoother way to do it and it is actually missile cam, not just using BR and following the missile in which doesn't go smoothly.

How do you get the missile cam view? When I cycle the camera on the players and get to the gunner and when he fires the missile, the camera doesn’t follow. Unless of course you aren’t using BR and Seismovision or something... but does that even work? Seismovision playing bf2demo files?

Lol, really if you want to see gunner ownage buy EF and come on the jolt server. The video so far is just you spraying and praying, on OSS map its all about the TV missile from far distances, I've racked up a good 40 kill and 0 death, solo piloting. My most challenging opponent has to be ACEMAN2004 one badass gunner right there. But yeah I'd like to go against you some time.

Thought that may interest you. When DGuy told me he wanted to make a TV missile vid I showed him how to do the missile cam view. To be fair on DGuy I'll let you know after he releases his vid. ;)

In Battlerecorder, after the missle is fired, you can pause the game and skip around to different players and when you land on the gunner, it will be the missle, or something like that. Then you just edit it together, thats what it looks like you did because there is a small skip in the footage as soon as the rocket is fired.

Heheh I'm still gathering footage. It's going to be awhile. It took me awhile to make my Medal of Honor (http://rapidshare.de/files/17076400/purechownage.rar.html) video.... I don't rush things.. just work on it when I feel like it. When I play and either use BattleRecorder or FRAPS I only keep what I think is really really good. It's a b1tch to find a good 24/7 Wake with BattleRecorder that actually works. That's what this video is going to be too, Wake Ownage.

No that's not how its done. I dunno why there was a skip in the footage, I'll have to ask him. I found the missile cam view by accident one day and I have never seen anyone use it yet in a vid. I'll definitely let you know Chodda after DGuy's vid is done so you can use it for yours. ;)

hey man you should select with Fraps to Record Half size so it will make it smaller or when you go to render it render it at 640x480 is the perfect size for gaming vids

If you are spectating the pilot, and he switches to co-pilot seat, and fire a tv missile, then you follow the missile in a camera mode..

To do the missile cam here's what you do. Its done using chase cam in game. So you either need a 2nd pc or someone to film it for you. He had his bud 007 film the missile cam for him. So you die, click on the spawn screen anywhere but a spawn point, top right of the spawn screen click the cross, then hit C to cycle the camera until you get to the gunner. When the gunner fires you get the missile cam. Enjoy.

I prefer to watch it in first-person view. But some clips using Battlerecorder are ok too. Just not too many, because imo it doesn't show 'skills' for real.

I've been getting a bunch of questions as to when this thing will actually be done.. but basically I have all of my footage... I would like to get a few more things and don't know how long it’s gonna take to get them. I don't want to stage ANYTHING and have it all real footage. Then after that I'm gonna start to actually edit and piece together everything. I might start to edit tonight and then just fill in the gaps of the missing footage later. Who knows, I'm basically just playing this by ear and I'm not rushing it. Just workin' on it whenever. I'm happy you guys are excited though =P

Ok, I edited basically the whole thing today LOL ... I still have a few things I want to record... shouldn't take long. If I get all my footage by tomorrow and finish everything up... then it should be ready for release by tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. All depends on how exporting goes etc etc. I’m not the best at that :P margav I might be needing your assistance on that =)
