formatting drive, what BF2 files to keep ?

What you need to keep is BF2 files in your "My Documents" folder. Battlefield 2 is the name if the folder you need to keep. In there you have profile folders and in the profile folders are "controls.con" files which are your control settings.

Anyway, just save the whole Battlefield 2 folder in My Documents and you should be OK. After Formatting, put the Battlefield 2 folder back to My Docs and youre ready to go.

Well i am going to have to reinstall the game, then just replace the profile folder and i should be cool right ?

Correct. You should replace the Battlefield 2 folder in your My Documents folder.
