Getting mic to work????

I just bought some headphones with a mic, but I can't get it to work. I tried setting up under control panel, sound and devices, in windows, but it won't recognise it.

How do i set this up so I can use it in BF2????

is it usb or the green and red plug?

It is the green and red plug.

I tried hooking up a mic I know works, and still couldn 't get a response out of the windows recording test.

What are you using for a sound card, onboard or a pci card (and which one if so)?

sound card is onboard. There is no seperate plug on the back of the computer that goes directly to the sound card.
