View Full Version : BF2 Account server, not connecting

Well this morning, i thought i would have a game of BF2, but i wasnt able to connect to the acount server, what happened was, soon as i click on my account name, and click connect, it just says Connecting to account server for ages, and nothing happens, or after a minute, it will say 'server refused connection' but most times it just hangs on the 'connecting to account server' screen and you cant Alt+TAB or Ctrl Alt Delete out, so u have to reset your computer, but i have have been trying all day to connecting on and off, maybe attemped 15 or so times, but same thing over and over.
But the thing is, i just recently read on another clan forum that some people are also have this same problem, so its not only me, its obviously a BF2 related problem, i doubt it is my internet connection because the people from the other Forum live across the 'Pond' just wondering if anyone else here is getting the same thing? or know how to fix it? i know most people are connecting to the account server just fine,

ahhh yes yet another problem with the 1.3 patch. All i can say is hope for EA and Dice to fix this without making worse problems.

I use bf2autoloader to connect, it is much faster.
The other day there was a problem with their database and tried to connect the "normal" way, it took almost 7 minutes to log in :mad:.
Well the problem with bf2autloader was solved, hope I donīt need to log in the normal way anymore.

P.S. - Anyone uses autoloader? Since 1.3 the server/browser of that aplication started to give me problems, anyone one experienced it?

Most people have moved from Autoloader to Qtracker I believe.

Ah Success! i just got home, and tried to connect again, and it works as normal now, i just hope it stays this way :) thanks for the replies guys.

having the same problem. hope it blows over. would really hate to have to reinstall.

What is with EA and providing crappy software.. I'm having this problem as we speak. Everything else, however, runs fine.

same here.
i played online last week. no problem. then, upgraded from v1.22 to v1.3 (incremental) and now can't login to the account server with connection refused error. i've read that the incremental patch causes many issues (with missing shaders for instance) and it's better to reinstall and upply the full 1.3 patch. i haven't tryed it just yet as singleplayer runs fine and maybe it's a prob with account server.

can anyone confirm having connection problem after incremental upgrade to v1.3?

EDIT:
btw i didn't change my router configuration.
