First off I did a search in this forum and didn't find this.
To bypass the account login just use the following two case-sensitive commandline options:
+playerName YourName
+playerPassword YourPassword
To bypass the intro movies:
+restart
Simply right-click on your BF2 icon in your start menu or desktop, goto Properties, then edit the Target field like this:
"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +playerName Harmor +playerPassword harmor1337 +restart

What about the clan tags? Is there a way to automate that too, or does it remember the last one you used?

You can directly edit the config file that has your tag in it. It's blank by default, but that's also how you see people get characters in their tags that the game won't let you type in.

It remembers the last one you used (its in one of the Config files).

Thanks for the tip Harmor, I've already deleted my movie files but that login stuff is handy. On a related note my BF2 command line is getting a little ridiculous..
C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe /c start "runhigh" /high "E:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BX.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +restart +playerName Bungalow_BiII +playerPassword PASSWORD +szx 1920 +szy 1200

c start "runhigh" /high "E:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BX.exe"
Does that tell Winblows to run BF2 on High Priority instead of using Control-Alt-Delete to do it?
You could write a batch program that edits your prefix and starts the game.

Does that tell Winblows to run BF2 on High Priority instead of using Control-Alt-Delete to do it?yes it does, the problem for me is that some of my mouse buttons (the ones that use a keyboard keystroke) are unresponsive if bf2 is in high priority. i have an mx500.

As Roger said yes it does. However if you have any hardware with software or just plain old software running in the background (macro whores *cough*) you'll experience some issues. Some examples of legitimate programs that will wig out include: Winamp, Fraps, Ventrilo, Teamspeak (and yes I'm also pretty sure this includes people with a cheatboard with macros like the Logitech G15).
If you're going to run BF2 at high priority make certain you're only running BF2 and yes it most certainly does help especially in regards to verfying client data.

so how would i go about keeping the logitech software open and having bf2 set to high priority?

My account name is not 'Harmor' ... and I wouldn't use a simple password like 'harmor1337'...give me more credit than that ;)

Could you give me a rundown on your commandline options? The ones I'm not familiar with at all is/are the +menu1 and the +szx and +szy? Is that stating what resolution you want to play in? As in 1920x1200? what about the bit rate or whatever of either 16 or 32? How exactly does the +restart work? Are you actualyl restarting and what does +menu do exactly?
Thanks.

It was said earlier in the thread, first post in fact, that +restart disables the intro videos.

..... you misunderstood. i'm asking how the entire process works. how does the commandline "+restart" disable intro videos...

Maybe, but all you do is start BF2 with that option in the commandline, and it just skips it. You arrive at the Login if you haven't added that part to your command.

You would have to also elevate the other important software to 'high' priority.
I'm not sure how increasing the process priority for bf2 makes it run any better, but if you say it does improve your experience I can't really argue against it. As far as I can tell, all it would do is starve other processes for CPU time and the more elegant course of action would be to simply end or suspend those processes.
I'm glad it works for you though. :)

maybe try it at high first, then higher, then realtime to see if the 2 can co-exist without clashing, if not;
then consider also raising the priority of your logitech software, either to match bf2 or a couple of rungs below
you could automate this by finding the .exes your require for your logitech startup....copy then paste the shortcut into your startup folder, then edit the shortcut command line to include START /LOW or START /HIGH or START /REALTIME etc etc before the programs path - that just saves you having to ctrl-alt-del and change priority each time

uh what do you do if your bf2 doesn't even start up at all. all i get is the splash screen and then BOOM. nothing. i'll tell you what i've done.
clean re-install (deleted all the old folders including profiles and what not.)
1. installed bf2
2. installed bf2: sf
3. applied 1.4 full
4. put in my commandline options. (tried it without too.)
