Why so many banned members?

An unusually high number of the threads I have read recently have had posts by banned members in them.

What are the typical reasons for these bans?

Dont violate the rules, and you won't be banned...

I have seen threads where a member has been banned and they have posed a lot in it, but I haven't seen many threads with more then a couple of people with the BANNED letters in there post.

More people are reporting inappropriate posts, these are also people that have previously been warned about things before. You are correct also Sacramento, following the rules will prevent this.

In the new vbulletin (forum software) we have comming it has a system that will ticket people like a drivers licence. 15 points then you are banned till some have been removed. This also give notice when you have been ticketed which should solve alot of people being temped banned on first minor offences.

I think he has a one mnoth ban for doing something at Fevergaming. I have no clue.

Super, in his FTP folder here at TBF2 (he had for free to host his tutorials) we found 2 files which gave him complete access to our database. The one script could only be accessed by him and 2 other users, also his IP had accessed this script many times. I had looked to see if there could be a valid explination, however none has been found so right now he is currently perma banned.

It is sad to see a good memeber go like this, and I tryed to find a way to say this wasn't him but the more and more I looked into it the more and more he became guilty.

okay he had 2 scripts that allowed him to access your database and thats the reason why he has been banned. thats a good.

but a good question in my opinion is where/how has he got the username and password to access the database?

think of it like this ....... if the shoe bomber gave you the step by step instruction as to how to make one. ..... there would be more out there


the only way to fully secure anything on the net. ... is to unplug it. .. plain and simple........ its people like that .... that cause infringes on the community since we have to watch our back every second .... especially when we "think" they are trusted, :(

i didnt wanted to get a step by step description ;)

i was just a bit confused because in the posts befor it looked like the main problem is that he has accessed the database, not that he was able to (what is very alarming)

but i am sure that you have been investigating this issue and know exactly how he was able to.

Not to hijack this thread or anything but I have a question about this new ticket system.

I swear alot in my posts but I never go around the language filters - I let the words get filtered out and I don't really care that they do. I still get my point across. Is this new demerit system going to give me points when I use a filtered swear word?
