I've seen many forum with this system, so I'll suggest it here.
It's kind of "special section" in the forum where are created thread containing a specific quote which is updated automatically or manually, depending.
Ok it's hard to explain but I'll give a few examples.
The section could be called whatever "Special thread","quotes" or something..
And in this section, people could read all kinds of thread, created only by admins.
Example:
"The longest post"
In there a quote is created following the number of characters typed. The user who wrote the longest post will see his post quoted there and each time another user writes a longer post, the quote is updated automatically.
or
"The most useless thread"
Chosen by the admins.
or
"The longest thread"
The thread which has the higheset number of pages.
or
"The most relevant post"
"The funniest post"
etc...
Those are only started by the admins and start only with the quote nothing else, then people could discuss, laugh, and maybe discover they talk alot ...
