Reinstall and repatch the game. Sounds like it has not installed a patch properly.

No, I don't think repatching it will work, thats why I suggested a full reinstall.

Although I now know how you can fix it - go and buy a legitimate copy of the game. Either that or find your nearest police station and turn yourself in for piracy.

either this or turn you haxx off Whoops. I forgot that contingency.

dude i bought the game i have no hacks and i have a real cd key i just need help If thats the case then try this:

Invalid CD-KEY error
This is caused by the patch, because it now encrypts your CD-KEY in the registry.

EA Solution (http://support.ea.com/cgi-bin/ea.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=10959):

Battlefield 2
1. Go to Start>Run and type in regedit and click OK.
2. Find this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Battlefield 2\ergc
3. On the right hand side there should be something called (Default). Double-click or Right-click>Modify to open the Edit String window.
4. Type in x9392 and then your Battlefield 2 CD key.
NOTE: Don’t include hyphens.
Example: x9392(your Battlefield 2 CD key here)

Battlefield 2: Special Forces
5. Go to Start>Run and type in regedit and click OK.
6. Find this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Battlefield 2 Special Forces\ergc
7. On the right hand side there should be something called (Default). Double-click or Right-click>Modify to open the Edit String window.
8. Type in x9392 and then your Battlefield 2 CD key.
NOTE: Don’t include hyphens.
NOTE: Do NOT use your Battlefield 2: Special Forces CD key.
Example: x9392(your Battlefield 2 CD key here)

If that doesn't work try:
Manually Removing Battlefield 2 (http://support.ea.com/cgi-bin/ea.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=8986)
Manually Removing BF2: Special Forces (http://support.ea.com/cgi-bin/ea.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=11150)
and then reinstalling the game.

Did you follow the instructions above? Including a full manual uninstall of BF2 and reinstall.

If you get the same error, then your cd key might be corrupted. In which case you need to either buy a new copy or submit a support ticket to BF2.
