[TRAILER] Ambush at Hill 17

Ambush at Hill 17 is the first part of a three part series. The next part will be entitled "Rescue at Hill 17", and the final episode title is TBA. This movie portrays a tiny tactical USMC force parachuting in, loading into a FAV, and moving into position on the infamous Hill 17. An airstrike ensues, but MEC forces detect the small USMC force and send units to take them out. Can the USMC unit escape overwhelming odds?

Note that will not actually be the intro, and the movie is being reworked. Also note I realise the footage is kind of shakey, the final final will have a bit better footage.

I'll tell you what happened, patches happened. I could never go back to any of my demos after a patch came out, and didn't want to retake old scenes, so I just figured I'd do something new. I do plan on going to it, however.


I'm working on making a slightly better version, in high resolution. I'll probably get a link tommorrow.

Yea, patches are pretty bad.. but ill tell you a quick hint so you dont need to worry about them anymore..
When a new patch comes out and you have demos you need footage from, copy the entire bf2 folder and rename it the old patch.. that way you dont have to repatch to that point (This is the same concept as with the 1.4 beta patches..)

My guess would be yes. If not all than some, judging by the title of next series. Another squad of supermen, and a platoon of MEC that can't shoot. Hurraaay!

First 2 episodes won't have invincible USMC soldiers. Third one may or may not (depends what looks better in the end).

I love superman soldiers!

But in all honesty, theres some movies that blatently do it, and other movies where they really have no choice but to have everyone suck at shooting people (or the video will be impossible to create)

Well matt, i see the quality of the video went up dramaticly in this video compared to excape from mashtuur..

Which is a good thing.. more enjoyable to watch.

AudieMurphy, I use Vegas 6.0. To make those effects, I used 2 different effects:
1) Glow - I use a pretty light yellow glow, that makes it seem HDR-like.
2) Color Curve - I just upped the brightness / constrast a bit to make the colors a bit more "extreme", kind of like Far Cry.

I also used a few other effects for various things
1) Light Rays / Radial Blur - only used these "Zooming in" somewhere
2) TV Simulation / Gradient Map - Did this for the Command Screen type thing.

Glad you think it's better. This is taking a LOT longer to make (about 5 hours work for 30 seconds footage), so hopefully it'll also be more enjoyable to watch.

Well normall the more work you put into something, the better its going to look..
What you are doing is usually the case for me.. its usually that statistic, sometimes a bit lower or higher, depending on the scene.

Id rather have time put into something rather than having something rushed
