I decided to lauch me into 3ds max software. It's so damn fun and I really like it, but it's just a bit complicated at the beginning. So I followed a tutorial and created this kind of alien.

Im happy of it, not too pround, but Im just trying not to demand too high for now.

What do you think ? Of course, no materials for now, just the basic rendering. No lights, no texture. Plus, I have a pretty slow computer, I really thought it gonna explode and the end.

For a 15 years old beginner, I think I'll be able to get better and better. I know a guy who works with this for movies (he actually did animations for King Kong and Batman Begins) So I would really like this kind of job later. Working with people and travelling a lot, I love it. Plus, it's my dream having a career in the sector of cinema.

How hard is it to do that?

I was thinking about doing that, but with cars and stuff.

Would cars be fairly easy to make in that program?

Depends how much detail you want, how much time you are willing to put in it? How much patience you have and etc.

I've personally have done rims and body parts for a car game. It was pretty easy to start off with. But when i wanted to do a whole car, it got a little confusing.

Wow, that's really nice! Seriously, that's actually REALLY good, especially for a first try!

Give it a simple dark green skin and see how it looks! Perhaps some sort of mod out there could use it somehow..

Autodesk 3ds MAX 8, of course there is MAYA too , but the two software depend of the person who uses. I prefer 3ds max.

For those who wants to try out the alien , download the videos :

http://www.3dbuzz.com/vbforum/sv_dl_list.php?c=2
scroll down to Issues 4 and 5. Of course, for beginners, I recommand you to download Issue 1, 2, 3 also.

Really detailed videos. awesome teachers, pretty funny though, sometimes they laugh their *** off during the explanation. I'll begin working on my chair tomorrow of maybe a toaster, I havent decided yet ;)

For those who like modelling or just like to look out artwork, check out this : http://3dtotal.com/

awesome stuff, beautiful work, fantastic artists

Wow that is REALLLYYYY good.

I just tried the program for myself and i must say it's HARD.

It must have took me atleast the last 30 minutes to do this:

It's really confusing.

How much is the actual program?

I'd love to make things like that.
