Ever wanted a Digg style of site for gaming news only? Well a new site has been created to do just that. Creator Josh Olin is proud to introduce Aggregame.com. Here's a little info behind it:
Aggregame.com can most readily be described as a social media recommendation platform for gamers. Whether that media is news, videos, screenshots, previews, reviews, interviews, or any other kind of 'views; it serves as an aggregate hub for your gaming fix.
Content on Aggregame not only is indexed based on relevance, but is then socialized to the max. You can comment on a story, vote on a story, and unique to Aggregame: Chat in real-time, right on the page, with anybody else currently viewing the content you are viewing. This instant socialization medium is a staple for every piece of media on Aggregame.
So what exactly is the point of Aggregame? The point is to bring the most relevant news, as voted on by users, to the front page (a.k.a. the "Leaderboard"). When a user submits content to Aggregame, it goes into a queue where it waits to compete in a match, much like a first-person shooter. In this match, your submission is competing for points with the other entries in that match. The top X stories, depending on match size, make it to the Leaderboard.
Submitting stories is pretty straight forward. You copy-paste the URL of the web content you want to promote, select a thumbnail that the site generates from the page content, and type descriptive titles, descriptions, and tags to help others find your entry. Manual submission is not the only way to get content on Aggregame, however. As with any social media platform, widgets can be clicked on publishers' sites for easy, one-step submission of content.
