How to run patch 1.41 and 1.5

Ok, there are many people that want to check out the new Battlefield Beta patch,but don't want to risk having to reinstall to revert back to 1.41. There are many reasons why you would like to run 1.41 and 1.5 at the same time. Some of the reasons are your in a competitive league, you have a favorite server that doesn't run the beta patch, or you play a mod for BF2 that is not compatible with the new patch yet.

Well here is how to make it work it's really simple, all you need is about 10GB of hard drive space.

You should do this before installing Battlefield patch 1.5

Go to:
$:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES
for vista 64 bit
$:\Program Files\EA GAMES
for XP or 32 bit Vista users

If your on Vista just copy and paste the "Battlefield 2" folder in the same directory:
It should name itself "Battllefield 2 - Copy" or if your on XP just make a new folder called "Battlefield 1.41" or whatever name u want. and copy all the contents of the Battlefield 2 folder into this folder.

Once you have 2 Battlefield 2 folders, run the patch and install. The patch should install in the default directory.

To have easy access to both versions create shortcuts, for both and put them on your desktop as BF2 1.41 and BF2 1.5

***XFIRE users***
If your planing to use xfire in game first decide which version your going to play most, (probably 1.5) and make sure that the patch is running off the default directory "$:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2"

You can always set it up manually by going to tools -> Options... -> Games
(This will re scan for new games.) Find "Battlefield 2" on the games list, check the "Manual" setup option and find the directory then apply it.

If for whatever reason Battlefield 2 is not detected at all, choose the "not installed" option from the list and find "Battlefield 2", follow the same procedure.
