Battlefield 1943 Arrives June 15 on the 360 and PS3

EA and DICE have announced that Battlefield 1943 will be released simultaneously across the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on June 15 for just $15 USD. The PC version won't be released until some point in September.
A small slice of World War II is coming to the PlayStation network and Xbox Live Arcade on June 15th in DICE's Frostbyte-driven update to Battlefield 1942. It's the US Marines against the Imperial Japanese Navy as gamers participate in 24-player battles across Wake Island, Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima. Utilizing the Frostbyte Engine for the game means that all of the wonderful destruction from Battlefield: Bad Company is taking a trip back in time, meaning if you can't kill an opponent who is hiding you can more than likely kill his hiding place.

I smell a fresh batch of port, and the failboat is about to set sail

I guess we're damned if we do and damned if we don't with you guys, but be careful because that attitude can make people very jaded if it hasn't already!"

Obviously these guys are "SUPER DUMB" This is a way to P-I$$ off the PC users!!

Here is an idea. Hold off releasing until both the console AND PC versions are completed, or increase the size of the DEV team to ensure bothare in production at relatively the same time.....

NO MORE WORK ON ONE PLATFORM FIRST, THEN THE OTHER!

Its to give them enough time to unport it. I like how gordon try's to make it sound like its OUR fault that they dont put the PC first anymore.

Yea, he tries to make it seem like he's the victim. Let me guess, Bad Company 2 will come out for the PC 3 months after the others for the same lame reason?

I usually don't like to side with the bleating lambs on the DICE hate train, but...

"Do you want a port or do you want a PC version? If we are to do a proper PC version we need the completed game and then time to make a PC version from that..."

Ouch. They're focusing on consoles first, then the "PC version" when they have the time to get to it. It worked with Mirror's Edge, so it'll work with Battlefield. DICE is now a console game studio apparently. That really sucks.

The likely reason behind this is to maximise console sales in the first few months, due to both exclusivity and minimal piracy (compared to if the PC version were released at the same time).

Whilst annoying, it's good marketing on their part and I think it will work well. It should also give them time to polish the PC version and perhaps add some funky features

Ouch. They're focusing on consoles first, then the "PC version" when they have the time to get to it. Mirror's Edge was the experiment, I guess they were happy with it. DICE is a console game studio now, first and foremost. That really sucks.
It should of been expected, the sweet talking by dice these past months has just been that, sweet talking. They only dangle the carrot in front of the pc users face to keep them from going 100% nuclear. Once the console version is out they couldnt care less, they have allready made their money.

And you can bet once this blows up in their face they will trot out Karl Magnus troedson or who ever to do damage controll and try to calm the anger and disdain in the pc community.

September, WTH! This was my bright spot this summer and hell no I will not by a console just to play this game, I didn't even buy a Wii for the new Zelda which usually marks the point where I buy a new console.

    Let us rejoice people.

We can go outside and socialise, drink cider and be in the sun.

Then, when the hours become numbered and the days get dark we can retire to 1943 and dream of BC2. In a way, i'm quite glad
