Great edit Alex. With COD4 we could install it so that someone could try the game out on a LAN, but frankly speaking there is no way to try this out except to borrow someones computer that has this on it. I'm going to try and see if I can log into multiple computers offline and see if I can do a LAN, but now your account is stored online. Does this mean my profile can only be accessed online? This game is going to go down as a prime example of why there should be a demo. EA/DICE can now go on a full assault and market their game to both console and PC gamers, saying we support all our fans with the whole 9 yards (dedicated servers and demo).

So, if they were able to complete the game quite a bit under an initial budget, we the consumers got saddled with a game costing $10 more because...???
Because they can.
