    Treyarch Announces Patch 1.7

JD_2020, the community manager for Treyarch, has recently announced that the developer is currently working a 1.7 patch for Call of Duty: World at War. The patch is designed to tie up many loose ends in the PC version of the game, and is said to include the following changes:
    • Fixed a voice chat crash on systems with no default recording device selected
    • Fixed an issue causing erroneous duplicate qport errors
    • Server admins can disable team switching by setting g_allow_teamchange to 0. Players will be restricted to Auto-Assign in team-based gametypes

The patch is great news for World at War players, and it truly shows Treyarch's dedication toward improving the PC experience as much as possible. No release date is confirmed as of yet, so make sure you stay updated on TGN!

    I'm all over it, baby.

JD_2020 also had this to say about rumors that TreyArch's next CoD game might not come to PC:

So I don't think their intent is to follow IW's example with IW Net. Of course, we won't know for sure until around 10 NOV 2010. IW waited until just three weeks before MW2's release to drop the bombs(plural) on us, so it's best to just way and see.

Off-topic: When did "owns" replace owners in internet vernacular? I've been seeing it left and right for about a year now, it seems... Are humans really that lazy? Wait, don't answer that...
"What IW ward has done to PC is like a 360 MW3 being made in SD and using friends codes because most 7th gen gamers are on the Wii.
The 360 players game on a 360 because they prefer the pad, they prefer the system of XBL and using their HDTV. They didn't shell out for an 360 Elite so they can play Wii games. And they'd be just as pissed off with the game as PC users are with MW2."

its kinda cool that treyarch and IW both work on COD games. the other one doesn't get tied down to another game and can develop patches and release them in a timely manner.

I hope to god Treyarch don't follow what those IW twats have done.

Thanks for the good support Treyarch.

Please also fix people teamswitching at the end of the round to get win points!

Wasn't there a rumour of new maps in v1.7?

No, Crunch repped me for the POTD. I got two in one day. Rare for me, I know.

But I'm pretty happy to see that WaW isn't going to be completely dropped. I still like it a lot now that most things have been fixed, and this patch should make it so more people can actually play the game they bought.

I've always been thinking about picking up a copy of WaW, is it worth it now with MW2 since Treyarch seem to be continuing their support?

It's a fun game, especially the SP, but I didn't like the MP as much as CoD4, though many may disagree. I wouldn't necessarily say it's worth it anymore though.

its okay, not as good as the MW games. i got in on it when they had the 24.99 sale few months ago. i didn't play it much and probably won't either now that MW2 is out.

Reintroduce the epic bi-pod system they had which they so foolishly removed for a reason I still don't quite understand what convinced them.
